1-6962
Koso Parcol Varistep
Anticavitation design 3″ up to 16″
ANSI 2500

VARISTEP, an extrapolation of LIMIPHON design, has been engineered by PARCOL in order to better prevent cavitation phenomenon, without limiting the capacity at regimes not subject to cavitation.
Main features are a radial section expansion designed both to minimize the pressure drop at last stage (the most sensitive to cavitation) and, at the same time, to limit the pressure drop at first stage.
Less stages from bottom to top of the stack, resulting in an increase of the incremental Cv along the travel. Capability to comply with the pressure drop decrease at high flow rates, usually occurring in boiler feed water applications.

Koso Parcol Pressure Reducing and Desuperheating Stations
Angle with downstream water
injection port size 4″ up to 17″ up to
ANSI 4500#

Parcol 1-5700 Pressure Reducing and Desuperheating stations (PRDS) represent the most universal and compact solution for pressure reduction and desuperheating service of steam turbine by-pass lines, discharging both to intermediate or low pressure sections of power stations.
The spherical body shape design, together with the high quality of construction materials, allow a more uniform wall thickness than the conventional ones, fabricated by welding bodies, reducing P/T fatigue effects and improving welded joints quality.
The pressure reduction is mainly achieved through two stages: the first stage has the function to adjust the flow rate by means of a drilled cage trim, the second stage, designed with fixed throttling section, has the double function to generate a backpressure on the first stage by reducing fluid velocity and generated sound pressure level, and to convey the steam towards the injection chamber, at speed and distribution suitable to optimize the desuperheating process.

leakage class

1-9000 series Limiphon valves are widely used in steam pressure reduction and desuperheating stations, quite frequent in turbine by-pass lines.
As a matter of fact:
-
The pressure reduction takes place through paths whose section changes with the flow rate, thus granting the fluid velocity control in any operation condition
-
The fluid velocity control allows to limit the noise generated by the valve and grants the absence of vibrations and trim wear
-
The Limiphon trim has no construction limits as far as number of stages (so called "lunettes", due to their particular shape) and expansion of flow paths section are concerned. Therefore there are no practical limits for Δp and p1/p2 ratio as required by the process.
-
Limiphon valves may be sized in order to generate noise pressure levels comparable to the ones caused by the fluid flowing inside the piping. In this case they could not be essential for predicting the noise level produced by the whole line.
-
Unlike the valves provided with fixed section silencer installed downstream, Limiphon valves are the technically ideal solution for the above process, as well as for all applications where a strong pressure reduction takes place and regular vibration-free operation, maximum noise reduction under significant load changes are required.

DN 1″ x 3″ up to 3″ x 6″
up to ANSI 1500#

PARCOL 1-4442 series Spraysat multiple nozzle desuperheaters (variable area) are designed to provide optimum performances and high rangeability.
The independent spray nozzles progressively activated by the throttling piston, provide a good water atomization down to minimum flow conditions. To improve the quality of atomization and accuracy of temperature control, several sizes of spray nozzles are available. The built-in control system is very compact, reliable and easy to operate. The split body design allows to change easily the orientation of water connection versus the steam piping and greatly facilitate the seat replacement.

1-4800
Koso Parcol Urea Angle Control Valves
High pressure urea service
3/4″ up to 12″ up to PN420
urea grade SS, 25-22-2 SS

1-4800 angle, split body control valves are designed and manufactured so as to grant good service and longer trouble free life with very reduced maintenance.
The original and simple design of PARCOL valves as well as the right selection of the part materials result in great success of the same.
PARCOL has started the production of specialty control valves for urea plants in 1965; at present, approximately 200 production units where Parcol valves are installed run with full satisfaction.
Materials are adequate for urea and carbamate fluids and comply with the material specifications for this service of main Licensors such as Snamprogetti, Stamicarbon, Urea Casale and others.
Connections are obtained directly on the single piece that constitutes the valve body in order to keep down the weight, whereas the shape of internals does not leave dead zones. In fact dead zones are a cause for corrosion since carbamate strengthens its corrosive action particularly in these zones due to the failure of oxygen protection (passivation).
4-3111
Koso Parcol Urea Three Way Control Ball

1-2480
Koso Parcol Anti-cavitation / Low Noise Butterfly Valves
Butterfly, flanged body8″ up to 80″
up to ANSI 150#CS, SS, Duplex SS

The 1-2480 series PARCOL flanged control valves have a double eccentric disc which reduces torque requirements and seal ring wear by minimizing its contact with the disc.
Additional torque reduction is obtained by the profiled drilled integral wings of the design 1-2483.
The drilled wings of 1-2483 make the valve suitable for flow control in cavitating services on liquids and for low noise flow control on compressible fluids.
Due to the eccentric design of the disc, these valves can provide a stable flow control with limited negative gradients and excellent shut-off in closed position.
Also the flow characteristic is improved and it is close to an equal percentage shape for low openings.
The reduction of flow coefficients due to the wings is balanced by higher values of factors FL, xT and xFZ which allow the use of this valves for high pressure drop and angular travel up to 80° on liquid and gas services.
For more critical service a special execution with extended wings and angular travel up to 100° is available.
Available with body in A216 WCB, AISI 316, AISI 316L, A890 4A duplex stainless steel and size upto 80 inches is widely used in desalination plants.
